Pizza Party Fun!

Our girls went to such a fun birthday party at California Pizza Kitchen this summer! It was such a wonderful (and easy!) idea for a birthday party!

The girls got a tour of the restaurant and then got to make their own pizza's for lunch.

They had so much fun being the 'cook'!

Ains piled her toppings high!

Happy Birthday, Hallie!!

Lunch time!

Austin's Baptism

March 5, 2012 was a HUGE day for our family. It was the day you dream about for your children. It was a day and a moment I will remember forever as our oldest child invited Christ to reign in his heart and life forever. My sweet husband tells the whole story here so well. We were reminded again that day how truly grateful we are for the responsibility of raising this incredible boy to love his Maker and his God. It is amazing to watch your children 'get it' and the questions that come and the simple faith they have as they trust in the Lord. We made him wait for a while just to 'make sure' he understood as much as his 6 year old brain would allow him. It was incredible to watch and be a part of the process! To God be the glory, GREAT things He has done!

I caught him 'reading' his new Bible we gave him while waiting on his Daddy to come home from work one day. Have you ever seen such a precious sight?!

Looking at theses next few pictures still make me want to bawl! Watching a Daddy baptize his son- there is nothing like it. (And I got a front row seat getting the opportunity to be in the water with them! Amazing and wonderful experience!)

We had some family and friends drive down to celebrate A-Town's baptism. Here he is with Grandma and Grandpa Werley. Such a special morning!

Austin, we love you so much and are SO proud of your decision to surrender your life to Christ! He has such big plans for you, our confident, happy, loving and strong boy! You are a true joy and gift to me and your Daddy from the Lord!
And Hannah prayed and said, "My heart exults in the LORD; my strength is exalted in the LORD. My mouth derides my enemies, because I rejoice in your salvation. "There is none holy like the LORD; there is none besides you; there is no rock like our God." Samuel 1:1-2

100th Day of School

We made it!! 100 days of school for a home schooler who only does school 3 days a week is quite the feat! We counted to 100 every.day. We counted 100 candies, 100 of Austin's favorite characters, 100 pennies, 100 m&m's, 100 hundred paper clips etc. on our journey of 100 days. We counted by 10's, 5's and 2's A LOT and guess what? He knows how to count to 100!! ;) It was fun and more than anything this year I gained SO much appreciation for all those kinder teachers out there! Teaching a kid to read is hard and this age takes so much patience and endurance!

'THE' chart! It worked like a charm! He loved counting the days.

We celebrated the day by going to the Houston's Children's Museum for the day. Both A's had a blast!

Daddy met us for lunch to celebrate, too!

Overall, our first year of home schooling was a success! We all learned a ton! Harder to teach your own children than you would think, but such a JOY to be able to pour into my children's hearts each and every day. Excited about having a 1st grader and kindergartner in my 'classroom' next fall! ;)

Sea World Surprise

We came home from a date night and our sweet babysitter (LOVE HER!!) told us that she had an interesting conversation with our oldest kiddo where he tried to convince her that we were going to Sea World the next day for our family fun Friday. We laughed and said we were in fact NOT going to SW the following day, paid her, walked her out, sat down on the couch, looked at each other and then said, "Why not??" So we quickly got online to purchase tickets, check on the park and show times and pack a bag for the next day 'surprise' family fun Friday. It was fun when the kids to wake up the next day and for us to take off to San Antonio for the day. (One of the MANY reasons we love homeschooling!) They had no idea where we were going until we got there and were so excited! Here are some pics from our wonderful day:

It really was a perfect day and I definitely teared up a few times. So awesome to watch your children having such a great time and in awe of everything around them. We will definitely be going back in the fall!

I can't even begin to explain his much these two ladies mean to me. Their friendship is a true gift from the Lord! I seriously WOULD NOT have made it through the last 5+ years of my life without them! I love you, Meg and Mandy and
Raise God for both of you!!

Mandy even made the trek down from Waco for the evening. Always so fun to see her!

Here we are at the Chocolate Bar. (Best chocolate cake EVER!) Each one of these women are a blessing to my life!

On my actual birthday the fam took me to Star Pizza to celebrate. So yummy and so fun! Love this stage of life!!
