Happy (late) Birthday to our Nana and Ainsley is 9 months old!

As many of you know, we are big fans of our Nana around our house. We get to see her at least once a month when she so unselfishly comes up to watch our kiddos while Andrew and I go out for a "date" night. And then she will stay to help mainly me round the kiddos up before church on Sunday mornings which is definitely a task! She is always very supportive and we just love to have her around! I am pretty sure that Audrey has found a favorite family member as well - her Nana. Every time Audrey gets a phone in her hand whether pretend or real, she wants to call Nana. Nana doesn't always know this, but they have many interesting "conversations" from Audrey's end especially when she is just pretending. :) Happy Birthday, Nana! We love you and are so proud of where your journey with the Lord has taken you!

Nana came in town this last weekend and since she will be out of town for Audrey's birthday party this weekend - here they are exchanging gifts. (Nana also spent last week at Disneyland in California with our cousin Peyton and she brought back "ears" for each kiddo.:)

This is Nana with Ains and cousin Sophie who is 2 months younger and such a cutie!

Yes, Ainsley is 9 months old and so much fun! This past month was a big one for us.
  • 2 new bottom teeth
  • sitting up by herself
  • clapping and "talking" tons
  • holding the bottle by herself
  • rolling and "traveling" by scooting on her tummy
  • 1st ride in our jeep stroller and out of the car seat (yeah!)
  • 1st and last RSV sickness
  • 1st tumble off the couch - ouch! Not fun for either of us!
  • 1st baby sitter other than family (thanks Ms. Sam!)
  • 1st SPRING!
Here she is sporting SFA gear in honor of the men's basketball team making it to the "Big Dance" for the 1st time in history! Axem Jacks!

Happy Birthday Papa!

Today is our Papa (my dad's) birthday! Papa is a very special person in our family for several reasons. We don't go a day without Austin asking something about Papa and usually it is "Mommy, when can I see my Papa?" My son is definitely a fan of his Papa and I love watching the relationship that is so naturally developing between them. My dad is one of the most giving, humble and integrity-filled men I know and I am truly blessed to have him as a father. He has literally been the rock of our family. He is the main reason that our family is so close and it is through him I learned how to relate to my heavenly Father. I love how excited my kiddos get when we go to Waco to visit him and my mom and how genuine he is with them. Papa, we love you dearly and praise God for your life and the HUGE impact you have had on each of us.

Austin was so proud of this sign we made for our Papa and I wish everyone could have heard him practicing the Happy Birthday song to sing to Papa today. It was precious!

Check out the new hair do! I chopped my hair off a couple of weeks ago and I absolutely LOVE it!

Our sweet Audrey was being a tad bit difficult (right before naptime on a Sunday - you understand...:) so this was the only okay picture with her in it. Good times! I try not to stress about these things...
Papa, you are wonderfully amazing dad, father-in-law and grandpa and mentor! We love you!

My Brother is Engaged!

My little bro met his bride-to-be, Kristin in college at SFA. They actually "dated" and as the story goes he broke her heart because he wasn't ready at the time for a serious relationship. Five years later to the day of their 1st date my sweet bro asked one of the most precious girls in the world to be his partner in this life. My sister and I laugh that we actually had the chance to "hand pick" our future sister. Here is the story:

Right after Ainsley was born, Suzanne was staying with me to help us transition to baby #3 and being the most help EVER and such a blessing to us. Kristin and Suzanne have been great friends since their college days and since Kristin lives in McKinney they decided to meet up for coffee on night. They talked and caught up on each other's lives and when Suzanne got home we were talking about Kristin and what an incredible person she is. Several things that Suzanne was telling me about where Kristin was in life kept making me think about Cory and how he was "dealing" with the same things. So, I pretty much texted Cory late that night and told him that he let the girl he should marry go all those years before and that he should call her within the next week and ask her to hang out. He knew exactly what "girl" I was talking about and he was mainly worried that they had a little bit of an unresolved past. I pushed him a little, he called Kristin that week and the rest is history. So, our family was of course thrilled when things started to become more serious with Cory and Kristin. She is more perfect for my brother than even I imagined when I was praying for his future bride. She is going to make him an even better man and the love they have for each other already is a reflection of Christ's love for us just the way it is intended.

Cory pulled off a wonderful surprise engagement at Kristin's parents house with a fun little engagement party afterwards with the family. The ring is gorgeous and both of them are so excited about the amazing journey together they are going to have. I am so proud of my little bro. He has turned into an incredible man full of love for the Lord and his family. What a true gift marriage is! I am so excited that both him and Kristin get to experience everything it has to offer and the many ways the Lord will refine their hearts through their marriage. Congratulations guys! We love you!
